BFIL’s growth and success since 1982

1982 -

Repairing and modifying of fibreglass boats & passenger watercrafts and repair/services of Outboard Motors (OBM) engines.

1985 -

Commenced to act as a local sole agent in Bangladesh of Yamaha Outboard Motors (OBM), started to import and supply Yamaha OBM Spares Parts and Marine Accessories and also provide after sale services.

1987 -

Marine Fibreglass started manufacturing Fibreglass Boats for the first time in the private sector of Bangladesh. Initially started manufacturing Open Boats (MFG 13, MFG 15 & MFG 17) for Bangladesh Police and Bangladesh Rifles. The success in manufacturing and supplying the boats to the government body became the springboard for ongoing growth of the BFIL boats in Bangladesh.

1992 -

Speed boats were first introduced in the public transport sector of Bangladesh by us. It was then the manufacturing of Cabin Boats commenced with various modification to the previous models for perfection and better performance.

1993 -

BFIL imported 42Nos. Moto Guzzi V35 Police Motorbikes from Italy for Bangladesh Police.

1995 -

The importing and marketing of Motor Bikes Jincheng from China commenced.

1997 -

BFIL’s success in importing different products continued as Bangladesh Forest Division gave an initiative to import Microwave Communication Device such as High Frequency Radio Transmitter (HF R.T.) Set, Repeater, Very High Frequency (VHF) Base Set, Walkie-Talkie of Standard, Motorola and Fruno from Japan and China.

2000 -

It was after a tour to Yamaha Head Office (Japan) by the Managing Director, that we came up with MFG 21 DX and MFG 21 DXC. These are the most popular models till today which are in high demand by Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Rifles and many other organisations. According to customers, these boats perform very well and have gained an excellent reputation in the market.

2001 -

We are highly confident in importing various products based on our previous successes. Few Earthmoving Equipments such as Bulldozer & Pay loader were imported from BEML in India for Chittagong Hill Tracks.

2003 -

We entered the Steel Body Water Vessels market securing an order for 32 Steel Body Patrol Vessels for the Bangladesh Forest Division.

2004 -

With few Navel Architects and Draftsmen qualified from BUET, we started operating a consultancy firm. Our consultancy service includes design, drawing and supervision of manufacture of Steel body Coasters, Cargos & Passenger Vessels.

2007 -

We became the first company to introduce the water taxi boat (Model: MFG 33) in-board version with diesel engine at Bangladesh.

2008 -

Marine Fibreglass, the production facility has been upgraded to comply with the international standards in vision of attracting overseas clients. Bureau Veritas (France) classification society has approved the MFG 29XLC (water taxi/cabin boat) to be one of the most suitable boat for coastal region.
